Analyst Development Program

This 8-week paid internship, based in New York City, is designed to provide an overview of the Analyst function. It prepares you for an exciting career supporting our omnichannel brand initiative in financial analysis, professional development and communication. This internship develops the framework for a successful career in corporate retail through a unique combination of classroom training and hands-on experience in addressing challenges and opportunities faced in our corporate offices.

The Analyst Internship Program is an 8-week Summer program offered in New York, NY.

Career Growth

As an analyst intern you will spend eight weeks in an experiential learning environment which allows you to collaborate and network with other interns, while also allowing you to gain immediate responsibility by working on individual departmental projects. Working alongside our expert analysts, you will be placed in one of our Central Support areas such as Finance, Marketing, Store Operations, or Shortage Control Learning objectives are coordinated with projects and supervisory feedback to enhance your understanding of business responsibilities. Classroom instruction is combined with your hands-on experiences to augment learning and ensure the development of leadership skills and business acumen necessary to enter the business world.

While interning at Bloomingdale’s, you will be immersed in all that our corporate culture has to offer including community outreach initiatives and involvement with local volunteer programs. Our program also enables interns to participate in Meet and Greets and roundtable discussions with members of our Executive Committee.

As an intern at Bloomingdale’s you will gain key insight into potential career opportunities as an Analyst as well as exposure to the Analyst Development Program

What is an Analyst?

An individual who participates in the careful study of something to learn about its parts, what they do and how they are related to each other, resulting in recommendations for solutions or future strategy.

Analyst

Bloomingdale's analysts are tasked to creatively problem solve and develop solutions for some of the complex business challenges facing our Omnichannel Enterprise. Analysts are charged with supporting our Omni brand initiative in areas such as Marketing, Finance, Shortage Control, Store's Operations and Merchandise Information Offices.

Analyst Development Program

Bloomingdale's analysts are tasked to creatively problem solve and develop solutions for some of the complex business challenges facing our Omnichannel Enterprise. Analysts are charged with supporting our Omni brand initiative in areas such as Marketing, Finance, Shortage Control, Store's Operations and Merchandise Information Offices.

Assistant Analyst

Assist in the development and maintenance of reports and spreadsheets to interpret data. Collaborate with team on special projects and department goals.

Analyst

Oversee and execute on departmental and special projects.  Provide in-depth analysis of data.  Present recaps based on key findings.

Senior Analyst

Leverage data to identify opportunities and develop recommendations to grow the business. View the various metrics in new, creative ways and propose innovative solutions.

Manager

Analyze initiatives to increase productivity. Propose solutions to ensure department and Company goals are met.

Director

Responsible for the overall direction and productivity of an area. Drive results through strategic vision and leadership.

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Finance, Accounting, or Marketing  
  • Demonstrate solid academic achievement (GPA 3.2 or higher) through use of analytical and quantitative thought processing  
  • Exhibit strong communication, interpersonal and time management skills
  • Prioritize projects and manage multiple tasks to achieve productivity and business goals
  • Demonstrate strong business acumen and professional business ethics  
  • Ability to promote a cross-functional teamwork environment, solving problems and managing complex relationships  
  • Ability to utilize Microsoft Office with proficiency in MS Word and MS Excel   
  • Have strong interest in retail/ fashion industry
